Design

CAD designs are the basis for building a 3D printed part. You are welcome to send us a CAD file to create your component by email or via our online customer module. For details of the format and much more information, please see the notes in the CAD designs section. However, a file can also be created for you at our company. Exact specifications or a dimensioned 2D sketch are a great help in producing exactly what you want. Settings for stones, rings, earrings, hinged movements or technical components are part of our daily design work. Your design is not only implemented on the computer but working together also brings advantages for the further production process. Parallel to the design, a cost estimate can also be prepared for the expected casting or moulding costs. We will be happy to advise you in person too.

Scan

With a 3D scan, we can digitize a wide variety of objects. The scanned data can serve as a template for 3D printing and subsequent jewelry casting. Of course, we can also modify these data in constructions according to your wishes and integrate them into your design. Stones are particularly suitable for scanning. The scan and resulting file allow for the development of an absolutely precise setting for your unique gemstones. Structures of natural products are also often scanned to further process these surfaces for constructions. Heirlooms that are not to be damaged are stored as security scans. This can then also serve as a basis for reproduction or upcycling of historical pieces. Lost counterparts of earrings can also be mirrored and re-plotted after scanning. Too thin or fragile models are scanned and then reinforced in the 3D printing file (0.5 - 0.7mm thickness). This ensures the realization of jewelry casting. Third-party rights must of course not be violated in this process.

Wax plot parts

Wax plot parts are the ideal starting point for direct casting in metal. The Modellforum company has high-quality wax plotting machines in double figures. The wax plot parts built on this are characterised by their ideal suitability for casting and at the same time a very fine surface quality. Our machines are permanently in use and build platforms for our customers with the most diverse model requirements. The variety of shapes from the most filigree wires to the most solid objects is almost unlimited. Considerable amounts of precious metals can be saved for individual casts by using cavities, which could not, for example, be produced by conventional wax spraying. If necessary, an excellent silicone mould can be made from a wax plot part, and although the model will usually break the mould is available for production.

Plastic printing

Resin-based 3D prints offer the finest surfaces and optimum hardness for impressions. In contrast to the wax plot part, the strength of plastic printing is not direct casting, which is due to the material base of the substances used. However, plastic printing can be used to create exceptionally smooth surfaces. As a result, permanently durable master models can be created for impressions without the need for metal casting with subsequent intermediate finishing. The heat and pressure resistance of the plastic printing model can also be sufficient for rubber moulds, but the silicone mould should ideally be chosen to maintain the high surface quality too.
